OER you kidding me?
One of the 2018 OE Consortium Student Award winners (Natalie Miller), James Glappa-Grossklag (Dean, Educational Technology, Learning Resources, and Distance Learning at College of the Canyons), and I discuss the huge potential for student collaboration in open education.
Recorded at the 2018 OE Global Conference in Delft, this episode covers remixing cats (seriously), student advocates for open textbooks, connecting with the student body on open education initiatives, and how students can become more embedded partners for educational institutions.
I'd also like to congratulate Shifrah Gadamsetti (Mount Royal University, Calgary) who was the recipient of an OE Consortium Student Award for her work in raising awareness of OER. This included running workshops, and seminars, and campaigns to highlight the benefits of open textbooks. Here is the coverage of Shifrah's, and Natalie's work.
